LATEST RACE REPORTS

Saturday 18th August - Ipswich

First Heat: Gary was at the rear of the grid of 27 cars. The car developed problems and was unable to finish the race.
Second Heat: The car was performing better but the weather wasn't - it rained very hard and Gary had chosen dry tyres for the race so he did well to finish in third place.
Final: Gary started at the rear again but this time he had everything right: the tyres were correct, the engine was running as sweet as a nut, and Gary's driving ensured he finished in 1st place.

Sunday 19th August - Henesford

First Heat: Gary's father drew Gary 12th position out of a hat in a field of twelve, so starting at the rear of the grid with hard rain Gary had to work hard for all of the 20 laps to finish in 1st position again.
Second Heat: The positions are reversed for the second heat so Gary starting from the front should have had an easy ride. Unfortunately he didn't and he finished in 2nd place.
For the final Gary was in pole position for this 35-lap race. He got off to a flying start and led from start to finish out in front with no problems.

Sunday 29th July - Superstox

The East Anglian Championship was held over two days, Saturday and Sunday 28/29 July. Gary didn't attend the Saturday meeting at Ipswich because unfortunately the car was not ready in time. On the Sunday at Great Yarmouth in the first race he started at the rear of the grid with a field of 31 cars. Gary picked his way slowly through the field and finished in 1st position.
In the second race he started again at the rear and this time finished in 2nd position. This then gave them 4th on the grid for the final.
In the final Gary had a disastrous start. At the first bend there was a major problem with many of the cars in all sorts of trouble and Gary exited the bend in 12th position. By hard work he managed to work his way back through the field. By lap 20 of the 35-lap final he was in 2nd position and by the 24th lap he'd made his way to the front where he finished by half a lap to gain the East Anglian Title.

5th August - Great Yarmouth

Gary entered all of the four races and the car was performing so well that with Gary's driving skills he finished all four in 1st position.

15th August - Eastbourne

Gary made several modifications to the car but unfortunately they made the car worse and he could only finish in 4th position in both races.
He pulled out of the final because he was not happy with the car.
